Chakras In Meditation And Healing

Posted by on Oct 13, 2017

chakrasWorking with the seven energy centres of the body, known as the “chakras”, forms part of the practices in the Seven Steps. Chakra is a Sanskrit word meaning “wheel of light” and derives from the highly trained Indian yogis that observed the chakras as spinning vortexes. It is through this energy that our life force flows, stimulating the endocrine system and helping us maintain a healthy, open balance of body, mind, spirit and soul. As a filter of subtle energies from earth and heaven, the chakras also act as conductors, and can help you become more open to receiving and transmitting Angel Light.

Growing Strong Roots
Archangel Gabriel is mainly associated with the throat chakra, the centre of communication and will. However, this angelic force is also closely linked to the root chakra because she “over-lights” our entry to the world at birth and working with her light enables us to become conduits of Divine energy. Our aim is therefore to create a strong, clear communication with the angels while also balancing the root chakra so that we feel safe enough to stand our ground.

This is important because in order to express your highest truth and open the “third eye” to the light, you will need to open the upper chakras. But first you need to strengthen the lower chakras (starting from the root and working upward) or you may feel off balance or floaty. Ways to ground yourself include meditating on the root chakra, walking in nature or feeling the earth beneath your feet.

In Seven Steps Into Angel Light, I offer several exercises connected with the Chakras. I’d like to share this ‘balancing’ exercise with you:

  • Sit comfortably, phone off, eyes closed, back straight.
  • Breathe deeply in and take the breath right down into your lower abdomen. Imagine you are strolling through a sunlit meadow filled with glorious red poppies bobbing cheerfully in the warm breeze.
  • You sit and peel an orange, enjoying the sweet juice as it quenches your thirst, under the gaze of the bright yellow sun above your head.
  • Continue through the meadow towards a clump of deep green trees where the air is cooler and you feel calm and serene.
  • There you find a stream trickling over pebbles which leads you to a lovely pool, turquoise in the twinkling sunlight teasing through the tree tops casting indigo shadows on the mossy banks.
  • Here you find clumps of the sweetest little purple violets, hiding their beauty from the world.
  • Sit for a moment, opening your balanced chakras to the angels, feeling their presence and basking in their light.

The First Step On Your Spiritual Journey

Posted by on Aug 18, 2017

Over the next seven weeks, I will be introducing each of the seven steps in my new book, Seven Steps Into Angel Light. Click through to watch the short video introduction to the first step now, then look out for further videos over the coming weeks.

Step One – Shining A Light

AngelInsight_Gabriel_170The first step in any spiritual journey is to ‘know yourself’. Guided by the energies of Archangel Gabriel, we learn to shine a light on our lives. Gabriel, the ‘Bringer of News’ and angel of communication, will guide you back to discover you you really are, and work out your life purpose and where you are going next.

Opening up the channels of communication
Working with the angels may feel a little daunting at first, but just as we all breathe the same air, are made from the same minerals, elements and water, and tread the same earth, so the angel energies are available to us all. The ways they interact with you, your connection to the Divine and your own spiritual impulse – just like the movement of your body, the colour of your eyes and the shades of your skin –  are  absolutely unique.

The more often you engage with Gabriel’s Light, the more it will help you to trust that the right thing happens just at the right time. To be open to receive just what you need when you need it, to understand and start following your soul calling – whether it’s retraining, changing your lifestyle, or bringing more compassion or creativity into your life. Open your eyes and you’ll start to see that all those previously unnoticed synchronicities, coincidences or chance meetings offer messages of support from the angels. It might be a loving gesture from another person, a website, a talk or a book that provides motivation and inspiration. Right when you are in need, in that perfect moment. Allow these moments to be signs of Divine love that remind you that you are supported in your endeavours to find your soul purpose.

Use the following affirmation to help remind you to look out for signs that Gabriel’s Light is all around you:

“My life is a wonderful journey of discovery. I have faith that I will clearly see the direction that I need to follow.”

Know Thyself – Where are you now?

Posted by on Apr 9, 2015

The group has connected handsThere is a great universal spiritual teaching that has been passed along through many different religions and belief systems. It was inscribed on the Temple of Apollo, in Delphi, and we are often told that it was first established in Greek philosophy and attributed to the teachings of Socrates. However Greek legend tells us that it was the seven sages of ancient Greece (made up of philosophers, law-givers and statesmen) who gathered together to lay down the foundations of western civilisation and inscribed ‘know thyself’ at the entrance of the sacred oracle of Delphi. But the idea crosses all religions, ideals and cultures, both sacred and secular, and can be found in ancient Egypt as well as in the Hindu Upanishads dating back thousands of years. So we have to assume that the Indian culture had developed the same philosophy far earlier than the Greeks.

Humanity’s quest for self knowledge is timeless and all-encompassing and Know Thyself has been adopted and placed at the foundation of all knowledge. What we learn on one level crosses over into many levels of understanding and all ages. It would seem that despite the passage of time, across the millennia, the human condition has essentially remained the same: we humans have always been in search of our identity and our reason for being.

It would seem to me that the first stage of knowing ourselves is to find out where we are and how we arrived here. We cannot go on any journey without knowing where we are. We need to know how we got here, where we are going and which is the best way to reach our destination. Would you agree? In our spiritual life it’s exactly the same. We need to establish where we are on our spiritual journey and how we arrived at this point of belief and practice.

Bear in mind that wherever we are is exactly where we are meant to be. Whether we understand the process yet doesn’t really matter. The point is that by showing an interest in this discussion you have chosen to move from this place. Wherever you are, right now, and in whatever circumstances, you have made the decision to take a journey of self discovery.

The probability is that, since you are reading this, you may not actually believe in coincidence and may you feel you are being divinely guided to make moves or changes of one kind or another.

My job is to encourage you to trust your intuition, your inner guidance, with a sense of knowing that you are not alone. Throughout your life you have been watched over and helped by unseen forces that we have come to know as ‘angels’.

In the first chapter of my new book “Seven Steps into the Angel Light” I’m looking at all the ways we can find our direction – our ‘soul purpose’. I believe that each and every one of us has a spiritual purpose here on Earth. It may be a vocation, a service to the community, a calling to teach or some other practical application of your spiritual values, or it may simply be a regular offering of prayer, meditation and love that you radiate outwards as part of being the person you are.

Maybe you know your soul purpose, but if not, how do you begin to discover the reason you are here, and move forward on a new life path?  The first step is to connect with the essence or energy of the great Archangel Gabriel. Gabriel is the great Annunciator, the one who brings messages, the communicator and instigator of new beginnings and new direction.”

I’m looking for stories and questions relating to the qualities of Archangel Gabriel to illustrate this first step. If you feel you can help by telling me your story or experience, or if you have a question – I’d love to hear from you. Just email me –   I will do my best to answer as many as I can, and if your story is featured in the new book, I’ll send you a signed copy after publication. It could be YOUR story that helps others on their journey of spiritual self-discovery!

What ‘On Earth’ Is Going On?

Posted by on Sep 26, 2014

I’d like to start this week’s newsletter by saying “shana tovah u’metukah”, (Hebrew for “a good and sweet new year” ) to all my Jewish friends celebrating Rosh Hashanah this week.

Rosh Hashanah is the beginning of the Jewish High Holy Days, or Yamim Noraim (the “Days of Awe”), and is followed 10 days later by Yom Kippur, the “day of atonement.” Rosh Hashanah is referred to in Jewish texts as the “day of judgment,” and it is believed that God opens the Book of Life on this day and begins to decide who shall live and who shall die. The days between Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur are viewed as an opportunity for Jews to repent (teshuvah, in Hebrew) and ensure a good fate.

Jews traditionally gather in synagogues on Rosh Hashanah for extended services that follow the liturgy of a special prayerbook, called a mahzor, that is used during the Days of Awe. At specific times throughout the service, a shofar, or ram’s horn, is blown. The mitzvah (commandment) to hear the shofar, a literal and spiritual wake-up call, is special to this time of year.

The new year is the only Jewish holiday that is observed for two days by all Jews (other holidays are observed for just one day within the Land of Israel) as it is also the only major holiday that falls on a new moon.

Wow! Autumn Equinox, New Moon, and Days of Awe indeed! There is so much going on that we may be excused for feeling chaotic, not just for me personally but on a global scale, What ‘on Earth’ is going on – you might well ask! How are you feeling?

If you are emotional, exhausted or chaotic – you are not alone! We are passing through another time of strong planetary influences as we travel through the powerful Autumnal Equinox (which does not only affect one day – but the days surrounding it) and a new moon. I’m no expert on science, Astronomy or Astrology, but I can certainly understand how planets, far larger than the Earth, can influence the energies of our own planet, so by my logic that must have an effect on us too.

Just imagine – the waxing and waning of our own tiny Moon causes the rise and swell of all the oceans and creates the tidal flow of the whole planet. Our bodies are 76% water so it’s no surprise that the same Moon must influence our human emotional body by pulling the tides within us. Our emotions are held within that internal emotional body of water. The September Equinox of 2014 is one of the most powerful solar events of the year, and carries a great intensity, a great testing and powerful opportunity for re-definition.

AngelInsight_Gabriel_100It is a time for ‘cleansing, sorting, re-organising, and re-prioritising’ our lives. As the New Moon arrives it offers the chance to begin again, start afresh, and build new energy. But let’s not allow all of this to overwhelm us, we do not have to deal with these changes alone. We have been given the angels to help to steer us through. For me, the Angel most closely linked to the creative energies of the moon, and the re-organisation of chaos is Archangel Gabriel. This is also the angelic energy of new projects and offers clear messages of your purpose and direction in life.

We can all take on too much work at times. We can become cluttered – not by ‘bad’ stuff – but simply by trying too hard. We can become muddled, confused and overwhelmed. These may be some of the challenges you are facing right now, but by meditating on clarity, and asking for help from the angelic realms you will be given the intuitive insights to enable you to see your way forward.

If you feel you would like a little extra guidance with the next step on your spiritual journey, perhaps to find your soul purpose, or any personal issues you would like to explore with help from the angels, I may be able to help you. You can book a One-to-One easily to talk with me via Skype or telephone, or if you live within travelling distance of north Essex you can come and see me here in my home.
